HEALTH SCREENINGS
Join us at our weekly health screenings to help reduce the healthcare inequalities among individuals experiencing homelessness. During these events, members provide blood pressure, EKG, and vision screenings, and promote cardiovascular education. This year we will be expanding the resources we provide at our screenings to further our mission of informing the homeless population about their cardiovascular health and overall well-being.
Training Events
Our training events for members provide opportunities to gain important skills in how to conduct screenings, as well as certifications for CPR, Stop the Bleed, and more!
DONATION DRIVES
Our donation drives allow us to advance our mission and help one another grow. Members work together in assembling care packages and distribute them to the homeless during our screenings. With your help, you can make an impact that leaves you empowered and fulfilled.
VOLUNTEERING WITH
LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS
This year, we will offer a greater diversity of volunteering opportunities to our members beyond our usual screening events. We will partner with local service organizations to set up regular volunteer events where members can gain valuable volunteer experiences and make an impact on our community.
ADVOCACY EVENTS
Learn more about how you can advocate for inclusion of homeless people in health equity and address existing disparities. Attend our advocacy events to learn more about existing homeless inequities and create a positive impact through taking part in discussions, writing letters to government officials, and more.
FUNDRAISERS
Our fundraising activities not only enable the functioning of our chapter, but also address the specific needs of the Orlando homeless population. We focus on developing projects that will increase the organization’s visibility and deepen our connections with our community. Our fundraising efforts extend from the popular partial proceeds and bake sales, to strategic events with other organizations, which happen both in-person and through virtual platforms.
SOCIALS
Interested in meeting new people and having some fun? Come out and join us at our monthly social events where we get to enjoy some unique recreational activities.
